Class time is scheduled from 9:30am to 4 pm with a one-hour break for lunch. You will receive a certification good for 2 years and a keychain breathing barrier mask. The Step Up Now (SUN) program uses the Sexual Risk Avoidance (SRA) approach instead of Sexual Risk Reduction. SRA seeks to help young individuals eliminate risk as opposed to simply reducing it. This interactive presentation shifts the focus from the problem to the solution: healthy boundaries, strong identities, and self worth.

“The primary goal of visits is for children to build healthy and positive relationships with their families” (Fein, Maluccio & Kluger, 1990).
Beacon Hill is training community volunteers on how to support safe meaningful family contact for families in the foster care system. (Must pass a background check and go through a brief interview process).
