DESCRIPTION:Deadline for applications is June 30th. The Summit will be held in September!  \nAt the Youth Organizer Summit\, held each fall in the Anchorage area\, participants gather with 15-20 teens from across Alaska to participate in five action-packed days of training in leadership\, advocacy\, community organizing\, and learn how to take action on environmental issues in our communities. Participants also become a part of that year’s cohort of AYEA Youth Organizers\, who put their skills into practice by choosing and leading AYEA’s statewide campaign for the year. \nEvery Alaskan teen\, ages 13-18\, is welcome to apply. Our only requirement is your excitement for environmental action! Applications are open to teens from both rural and urban Alaskan communities. DESCRIPTION:This FREE presentation is open to ADULTS who are interested in learning how to identify and counteract Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to develop resilient kids. \nRegistration is not required. \nFrequent or prolonged exposure to stress can create toxic stress which can damage the developing brain of a child and overall health. A Survival Mode Response to toxic stress increases a child’s heart rate\, blood pressure\, breathing\, and muscle tension. Their thinking brain is knocked offline. Self-protection is their priority. In other words: “I can’t hear you! I can’t respond to you! I am just trying to be safe!” \nLearn How Resilience Trumps ACEs!
