SUMMARY:From the Field: Summit Stories w/ Mary Gianotti\, Wasilla Speaker Series
DESCRIPTION:Where: Mat-Su Health Foundation\nWhen: Doors open at 6:30PM\, Presentation starts at 7PM. Event usually lasts about an hour.\nFree to attend\, no need to register\nPresentation details: For more than a decade\, Mary has led annual all-women ski mountaineering expeditions into Alaska’s remote\, glaciated mountains\, including descents of Mt. Hayes and Mt. Foraker\, first ascents in the Wrangell–St. Elias\, and first-ascent attempts on the Stikine Icefield. Moving through storms\, glaciers\, and high-stakes terrain has reshaped her understanding of strength\, leadership\, and success.\nDrawing on stories from Alaska’s wildest ranges\, this talk explores trust\, shared leadership\, and emotional intelligence in high-consequence environments. These expeditions revealed that kindness is not weakness\, listening is active leadership\, and vulnerability is essential. When every voice is heard and care is built into decision-making\, teams move with clarity\, resilience\, and quiet confidence—measured not only in summits\, but in connection and the courage to face the unknown together.
