SUMMARY:Presentation: ACES and Resilience (Online and In Person)
DESCRIPTION:This presentation is currently being offered Online and In-person. \nLocation: Online and Mat-Su Health Foundation\n777 N. Crusey Street\nWasilla\, AK 99654 \nThis FREE workshop is open to ADULTS who are interested in learning how to identify and counteract Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to develop resilient kids. \nFrequent or prolonged exposure to stress can create toxic stress which can damage the developing brain of a child and overall health. A Survival Mode Response to toxic stress increases a child’s heart rate\, blood pressure\, breathing\, and muscle tension. Their thinking brain is knocked offline. Self-protection is their priority. In other words: “I can’t hear you! I can’t respond to you! I am just\ntrying to be safe!” \nLearn How Resilience Trumps ACEs! SUMMARY:2021/2022 Regional Parent Conference: Mat-Su Valley
DESCRIPTION:Virtual conference \nDiscover the Power of a One-Page Description! \nHave you ever sat in a meeting where others are talking about your child and everyone is focused on health and safety or what they can’t do? A one-page description is a “cheat sheet” which provides a positive introduction of your child and helps others learn how to help them have days filled with the things that make life worth living…what’s important to them. It also provides your child positive control over the supports they need. Join Aimee Ortiz-Day and Shelbi Davenport to learn how to create a one-page description and how it can be used across multiple settings. \n*In order to connect families to local resources/services\, space will be limited to families living and receiving services in the Mat-Su Valley \n(Recordings will be available online and by request after the conference) \nRegister here: https://www.stonesoupgroup.org/event/2021-2022-regional-parent-conferencematsuvalley/
