A Survival Mode Response to toxic stress increases a child’s heart rate\, blood pressure\, breathing\, and muscle tension. Their thinking brain is knocked offline. Self-protection is their priority. In other words: “I can’t hear you! I can’t respond to you! I am just trying to be safe!” \nLearn How Resilience Trumps ACEs! DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, September 17th for our FIRST Annual Aging Healthy Walk & Mini Vendor Fair! \nAbout this event\nDoors open at the Palmer Senior Citizens Center dba Mat-Su Senior Services at 9:00 am. The walk begins 10:00 am. \n*If you purchased a ticket that comes with a t-shirt\, you will be contacted in a separate email for your t-shirt size. \nThe Walk 10:00 am – 12noon The Walk is under 2 miles\, starting and ending at the Palmer Senior Citizens Center on S. Chugach Street. (see map below) \nMini Vendor Fair 12noon – 4:30 pm We will have food trucks\, a chalk art contest\, and an obstacle course for the children! The prices for these additional activities are: \nChildren 0-17 years old and Seniors over 50 years old are FREE! \nChalk Art Contest Entry: $25 (tickets sold online) \nObstacle Course tickets: $2 each\, $10 for 6\, or $20 for 16 (tickets sold at event)
